Oslo, 02.10.09 — Seadrill has chosen Docmap® as their new Total Management System for the entire Seadrill organization. Docmap® will be implemented on 42 drilling units divided within 6 different business units and a corporate organization, together 7000 employees, representing over 25 nationalities.
Seadrill is one of the world’s leading international offshore drilling contractors. Together with partners, the company has 42 drilling units, of which 10 are under construction. Seadrill's versatile fleet includes harsh-environment semi-submersibles, jack-ups, shallow and deepwater tender rigs and deepwater drillships.
Docmap® has been selected for several reasons. The system architecture supports Seadrill’s strategic IT requirements and it allows Seadrill to implement a standard solution that meets their functional requirements. When operating in 15 countries on five continents a robust technology is a prerequisite to ensure that the Total Management System is available at any time regardless of the current location to each of Seadrill’s rigs.
"Docmap AS is proud to announce this contract with one of the world’s leading international offshore drilling contractors. This agreement is a major step forward in the Offshore Industry for us and proves Docmap® competitiveness in a very demanding market.” says Mr. Svein H. Syversen, Managing Director, Docmap AS.
